Polished Concrete Floors
Mirror-finish to matte β professionally ground and polished concrete for residential and commercial spaces. Durable, low-maintenance, and stunning at any sheen level.
What Is Polished Concrete?
Polished concrete is the process of mechanically grinding, honing, and polishing an existing concrete slab to a smooth, reflective surface. Using progressively finer diamond tooling β from coarse grits that flatten and open the slab to ultra-fine grits that create a mirror-like sheen β Arturo can take raw concrete and turn it into a high-end finished floor that requires no coatings, waxes, or topical treatments to maintain its look.
The result is a floor that's part of the concrete itself, not sitting on top of it. Polished concrete won't peel, chip, or delaminate because there's nothing to peel β the shine is built into the surface through densification and mechanical refinement.

Residential Applications
Polished concrete works beautifully as a primary floor surface throughout the home β living rooms, kitchens, basements, entryways. It pairs with radiant heat systems, handles pets and heavy furniture with ease, and is one of the easiest floors to clean. Unlike wood or tile, there are no grout lines to scrub and no finish to reapply.
For basements specifically, polished concrete eliminates the risk of moisture issues that plague carpet and hardwood, making it one of the most practical choices for below-grade spaces. See our dedicated basement floor page β for more on moisture management.
Commercial Applications
Polished concrete is the floor of choice for high-traffic commercial environments. Retail stores, warehouses, breweries, restaurants, gyms, and office lobbies β anywhere that sees heavy daily use β benefit from polished concrete's durability and low maintenance cost. No waxing, no stripping, no recoating cycles. Just clean it and it looks great.
For commercial flooring with coatings rather than polishing, see our commercial floor coatings page β
Aggregate Exposure Options
How deeply Arturo grinds the slab determines how much of the stone aggregate beneath the surface is revealed:
- Cream finish β minimal grinding, the top paste of the concrete is polished, aggregate stays buried
- Salt & pepper β light grind reveals a few aggregate pieces for a subtle speckled look
- Full aggregate exposure β deep grinding reveals the full stone mix, creating a terrazzo-like appearance
Arturo will show you samples and discuss which level suits your existing concrete and aesthetic goals before any grinding begins.
